The stamped concrete process involves stamping or imprinting different patterns into colored concrete.
The beauty of it all is that there are no individual stone or brick to shift and also, since the
imprinted joints are quite shallow, the grass does not grow in the joint.
The main property of stamped concrete is the ability to withstand harsh winter weather. It offers decades of service with minimal maintenance.
There are countless color combinations, hundreds of patterns.
The stamped concrete has amazing performances, longevity and aesthetics when compared to other materials used in outdoor surfaces.
Subgrade Preparation: The subgrade is well-compacted which will help prevent drainage and can prevent soil erosion under the slab. A steel mesh grid will provide structural strength and support.
Forms: The forms, made of wood, metal or plastic, are attached to stakes to contain the concrete in the area desired. They are set to provide the proper slope or grade for drainage.
Concrete: The concrete is poured using a ready-mix truck. The type of concrete used is also crucial to successful placement. We used the best concrete available which is the Cement 32MPA.
Color: There are multiple ways to color concrete for stamping.
The Stamping Process: The stamp layout is diagrammed ahead of time, and we have enough labor on hand for the volume of work to be done.
Curing Stamped Concrete: Curing is a process that permits the concrete to retain sufficient moisture content for a long enough time to allow the necessary properties of the concrete to develop. When done right, concrete becomes denser and less permeable.
Installing Joints: Contraction joints can help prevent conspicuous cracks., but not all cracking caused by temperature fluctuations and drying shrinkage can be prevented.
Sealing Stamped Concrete: We complete the installation by application of a good sealer. This is the final step and one of the most important. The sealer will give the concrete a more pronounced color and will add a sheen to the surface. It will also help to reduce efflorescence that might discolor the surface, and it will block most stains.
